Since my last post I’ve been visiting a family in the Netherlands who is fond of God, strong beers, and playing games.
Istanbul. Phase 10. Koehandel. Beverbende. Ticket 2 Ride. Ligretto. Cathan. I’ve been playing them all. And “Man Overboord”, not least, which takes place on a playground nearby; you run and climb around blindfolded trying to catch the family’s kids or call them out as they step on the ground and run to get away from you. Caused me more wounds than a toe that still hurts like Hell and is turning blue, actually almost black by now.
They don’t gamble with money though. So, is crypto tokens that represent artful collecting cards and can be bought with IGNIS, money? Of course not. What if you can buy, sell, and trade those cards p2p, on the decentralized exchange on the Ardor platform? Still not. … Not in my jurisdiction at least. Then what if there’s a special card amongst them that master collectors can redeem by sending 1 of each of the other cards back to the issuing account by a smart contract and the issuing account then shares its future IGNIS income from selling cards with the owners of that special card? … Let’s just call it a beautiful use of blockchain, gamification and tokenomics, 2) a hobby project at this point, and 3) something not for me, God, the DAO, strong beers, or lawyers to decide.
The Tarasca DAO
Tarasca DAO (DAO = Decentralized Autonomous Organization) is owned by Tshare holders, most of them founders, but 10K Tshares have been for sale on the Ardor DEX and sold out last week. Tshare holders have meetings. They vote with their percentage of shares (110K tokens (Ardor asset ID 10418599541805894111) have been issued in total) and control all outgoing transactions from the DAO’s accounts. Tshare holders receive dividends from the DAO’s profits. Their actions on the blockchain is powered by smart contracts that are built right into the core of the Ignis/Ardor blockchain platform, which is open for anyone to use.
The Tarasca DAO exists on the blockchain only, as a digital entity, a company-like construction in neutral territory, or what could be called a “Grey Area”. It is not registered in any country, but every single transaction in/out of the DAO’s accounts are registered on a public ledger. Tshare holders must pay taxes of their income from the Tshares they hold in accordance with their country’s laws.
So, what does Tarasca mean?

Tarasca DAO is founded by Spanish Nxters who are into arts, collectibles, and developing games on the blockchain. Tarasca’s handdrawn art is unique and each painting is registered on the blockchain. Its organization and business model is currently enjoyed and extended by the Tshare holders and all of the game testers.
BTW, remember the Cryptokitties? A digital cat- and collectors’/breeding project on the Ethereum blockchain that got some attention and exploited Ethereum and the 2nd generation smart contract blockchain’s most fatal flaw: its lack of scalability.
The Tarasca DAO is built on the Ardor platform, which is better scalable, due to its multiple blockchain architecture. Tarasca doesn’t have that same scalability problem.

There are several.
a) Digital Cards – the Mythical Beings cards, beautifully hand-crafted by Spanish artist Ana Santiso. There are 3 categories: Standards (100K available), Rares (50K available), and Epics (25K).
b) Original art works – 5 originals, acrylic paint on canvas, timestamped on and secured by the blockchain, has already been sold on auction back in 2019. But 50 works of art have been done, only 30 of which have been released as digital cards so far. All of the original paintings will be on action in due time…. when the time is right.
c) Physical card game – the cards can be used for playing, and a test has been ongoing for fun and feedback, the crowdfunding campaign is about to launch.
d) The Tarasca Service – Tarasca DAO is selfmade and therefore owns the knowledge and the smart contracts it is run by. As Eminem once rapped: “You can be just like me!” – yes, you can jump the fence and issue your own gamified collector cards collection, all it’ll cost you is 5% to the Tarasca DAO. That includes everything you need to launch your own digital collection, except the card designs – be it your own drawings, digital cats, your football team, sports league, or grafitti pieces.
e) A 3rd party shop that will sell Tarasca merchandise, for example Mythical Beings – the Tarasca DAO gets away with 10%.

50% of the total income (not for p2p trades on the DEX but only for new card packs) is sent by contract to the weekly Jackpot, which gets distributed amongst the card collectors that return 1 of each Mythical Being card to the contract, or if noone claims it its passed on to the next month’s jackpot. The remaining 50% each week goes to the DAO, except 10% of the 50, which is sent to Tarasca Card holders.
One day, the Tshare holders will earn their dividends. And dump their tokens on the free market maybe.
